Lane Closures Begin Thursday, June 27 for Steamboat Parkway Paving Improvements

Reno, Nevada (June 26, 2024) – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is continuing work on the Steamboat Parkway Improvement Project. Initial paving operations will begin on Thursday, June 27 through Wednesday, July 3, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. No work will take place on Saturday, June 29, or Sunday, June 30.

Paving operations will take place on eastbound Steamboat Parkway between Damonte Ranch Parkway and Veterans Parkway, at the Steamboat Parkway and Veterans Parkway intersection, and on northbound Veterans Parkway from the Steamboat Parkway/Veterans Parkway intersection to just south of Wind Ranch Road. During paving operations, eastbound traffic on Steamboat Parkway and northbound traffic on Veterans Parkway will be reduced to one lane. Westbound traffic on Steamboat Parkway and southbound traffic on Veterans Parkway will not be impacted.

While roads will remain open during paving operations, through traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.

To help keep everyone safe, the RTC is encouraging pedestrians to follow detour signs within the construction zone. Pedestrians can also choose to take RTC FlexRIDE service that is available for free in the construction zone for the duration of the project.
