RTC Transit Schedules to Change on Saturday, November 2
RTC Transit Schedules to Change on Saturday, November 2
Reno, Nevada (October 28, 2019) – The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is making some transit changes that may affect your commute. The RTC is implementing these changes to continue to provide passengers with reliable and on-time service.
Starting on Saturday, November 2, 2019, the following transit service changes will take place:
-
Route 9 will change to serve the Battle Born Way/Kietzke Lane corridor from Prater Way to the southern end of Kietzke Lane. Route 9 will no longer serve 4TH STREET STATION or Meadowood Mall.
-
Routes 25 and 26 will be combined and shortened to Iron Horse Shopping Center. RTC FlexRIDE will serve the east side of McCarran Blvd., previously served by Routes 25 and 26.
-
New FlexRIDE curb-to-curb, shared-ride service will launch in some areas of Sparks. Scheduling a FlexRIDE is done by using the Transloc app on your smartphone or tablet, calling (775) 335-0035, or using a computer to access https://ondemand.transloc.com. Schedule your ride within 30 minutes of your desired travel time and the ride can be expected to arrive to the curbside closest to your location within 8 to 15 minutes. Fares will be the same as the standard RTC RIDE fares.
-
Minor adjustments to transit schedules will be implemented. Transit passengers’ bus timepoints may be slightly different after the service change.
The RTC encourages transit riders to check their routes to see the changes at rtcwashoe.com, or by calling 775-348-RIDE.
Transit riders can recycle their old RTC Bus Book by trading it in for a free new RTC Bus Book at Customer Service offices at RTC 4TH STREET STATION and RTC CENTENNIAL PLAZA. The new RTC Bus Book is also available online.
Transit riders will see new bus stop signs and materials start to go up around the community starting about a week before the service change. Even though new signs will be up, the changes will not go into effect until Saturday, November 2.
